2003 Influential Women in Business
To our readers:
The Business Ledger, in partnership with the National Association of Women Business Owners – Chicago area Chapter, is proud to again honor the “2003 Influential Women in Business” with this supplement.
This year’s 25 honorees – the sixth class of women so honored – were recognized at a luncheon Oct. 27 at the Hyatt Regency Woodfield.
The purpose of the event and the publication is two-fold: first, to identify women who have succeeded in their careers and gone beyond their daily responsibilities to exert influence in the business community at large; and second, to draw attention to the unique challenges women still face in the business and professional world.
This supplement showcases 25 women who have made a major difference in their chosen businesses, professions or corporate endeaveors in the west and northwest suburbs. We applaud them all and trust that you will be inspired by their stories and given some insight into their thoughts from their answers to questions posed by contributing editor Sheeri Dauskurdas.
Teh recipients were selected by The Business Ledger editorial department and a panel of outside judges, including some past recipients. More than 70 women were nominated, making the choices is no less easy to make but ultimately even more special in that these women are truly the best of the best.
With our partner, NAWBO, we also wish to extend our thanks to our corporate sponsors: Benedictine University, CNA, Comcast, Humana, Motor Werks of Barrington, Quill, Razny Jewelers, SBC, WGN Radio 720, The Women’s Initiative of Itasca Bank and Trust Coo. and York Furrier.
